Destiny Gundam Color Ver.

Hey all, just wanted to show what arrived in the mail today... The special edition of the Destiny gundam, the Heine WestenFluss Color Ver. As far as I can tell... All that is different from the standard real grade Destiny is that all the Dark blue parts are an off neon color.
Seeing how it was only available at the Gunpla Expo in Japan, it was worth paying the premium for it.

I promised the next gunpla I built I'd treat as a real model kit. I.E paint, extra detailing...  (Hell, it is a real model kit after all.) Because it is the special edition version and I could just paint the standard destiny gundam in neon orange, I opted for just painting the small details.
Once this one's completed, things will take off around here, I swear. ;)

Currently she's sitting about half complete, I have yet to build the backpack, arms and head.
In the meantime I picked up a Battletech Stalker II, and painted it in Donegal guards colors as per Savage Coyote's tutorial post on the CBT boards.
That's all for now folks.
See ya'll soon, stay safe out there.

ZUES X-4 Arrives on the battlefield!

G'day folks,
A little over a week ago I bought the new Zeus X-4 from Aries games and minis (An online store, fast, friendly service, I highly recomend them)
It is painted in the standard Second sword of light red.
I decided to leave the spikes off of the back so I can use it as a proxy for the standard 3025 zeus that hasn't aged well over the years. Of course, the spikes can always be added later should I decide I want to play a 3145+ game.
Here it is standing next to it's brawler counterpart, the venerable Centurion 50 ton mech from MWO.
That's all for now, but I should have some gunpla models to post in the next few weeks.

The unseen become the seen!

G'day folks wanted to post this incase you haven't heard... The Unseens are officially going to be back in the game!
The Project Pheonix mechs only got the unseens back for the timeline after 3067(?) as they are upgraded variations of the original 3025 units. This left a gap, the unseens from TRO 3025 were still unseen and thus were not allowed to be used in official tournaments.
There is also a rumored 'Alpha Strike' box set coming soon that will have the essential 12 seen units, and 10 redesigned clan mechs. **Please don't qoute me on this as this is just a rumor at this time.
Below you'll find the art for the newely redesigned Warhammer, Marauder, Shadowhawk and griffin. As well as a 3D render of that sexy new warhammer.
All in all I'm glad they're finally getting these classic units back into the game, and I'm more than happy that they chose modernize these machines like MWO.
I'm sure that this will bring new life into the game, and make new players fall in love with these mechs as so many of us have.
That's all for now,
See ya'll soon.

Need a new 'mech..? Why not Zoidberg..?

G'day folks,
Wanted to show off something that came in the post today... A king crab from MWO.... In metal.
I bought it from a nice guy from a certain online store (Of which I will not post so as to not step on anyone's toes, but if you're interested, contact me via google+ and I can send you his way.) I can safely say the casting quality rivals or goes beyond what IWM has to offer. Mold lines were minimal, most prominently near the cockpit area on the torso, and the standard mold lines on the arms and legs. As far as I can tell there is no detail lost in the casting, although I think the molds used to produce these could stand to be replaced as there was some minor pitting on the top of the torso. It is also notable that it comes with open and closed claws for both the left and right arms.

Mine is curently on the painting table sitting in primer and will be painted up in the standard sword of light unit colors like the jenner I showed a few weeks back. A CBT atlas and hex base is included with the pic to show scale. All in all it scales pretty well for a chicken-Walker assault mech.
See pics below.

Mwo Jenner

Hey all, another update... A repaint of the mwo jenner. Like all the others I used enamel paints, so the main goal is to atone for this mistake and use the proper acrylic paints. :S
All I've got to say is that acrylics are much easier to blend and shade.

I painted it up in House Kurita's first sword of light colors, a unit I've always liked. Also, it's finally mounted on a hex base! :D

After this one I've also got a jagermech repaint in benjamin regulars colors to go along with those previously shown.

That's all for this post and see ya'll soon.

GUNDAM POWERED GM CARDIGAN!

LHey all,
recently picked up another gundam kit at my local hobby shop, the Powered GM Cardigan. It is one of the newer kits made by Bandai, and my first High-grade Gunpla kit I have built. It is modeled in 1/144 scale, so it stands in about 4-5 inches tall depending how you decide to pose it.
This has got to be the model I have put the least work into, Didn't even have to spray paint it, just had to outline the panels. (One thing I forgot to do is put a layer of glosscoat... Will do that eventually.) I think it turned out pretty decent.
The kit came with multiple variation bits to costomize the estetics of the model. I decided to build it stock, as Pilot Fumina Hoshino had it. My only major gripe about the model is the stock backpack. It often effects the model making it hard to pose and keep the balance. To solve this I used the extra backpack included in the kit, that did not have the equipment attached to it like on the boxart.
So enough talk, and let's get to what you'll came to see, pictures!
I chose this model over the others because of the overall clunky-ness of the armor, while still taking the sleak style of Eastern Mecha into account. It's a good meating point for both eastern and western design.

Definitely more gunpla kits to be featured on this blog as we go along. ;)
That's all for now,
Ya'll stay safe out there.
